I worked as sound designer and dub mixer on this 18 min short by Something Quirky Productions. ‘Soul Trader’ is the vision of Geneviève Lowe who wrote, directed, starred in and composed the music. The film tells the story of a despondent soul (Alan Cammish) who arrives in a strange place where he must confront his (mostly) inner demons.

This was a great project to work on as the quirky, comical style allowed for some fun sound design including a human washing machine and even a little bit of horror. The film was made and produced in Birmingham by a fantastic team of locals and received a small grant from Reel Brum’s Open Fund.

‘Soul Trader’ received it’s premiere screening at Reel Brum, The Bond, Birmingham on 29 Sept 2025.
