Black Country Touring are running an online film festival for half term and have partnered with Flatpack festival to produce a screening of short animations and an interactive online event for families. I am delivering the online event which focuses on the art of foley. Following the screening of four short animations I give an introduction to foley – the reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to films and animations. Using a clip of one of the animations I recreate the sound effects using household objects and then demonstrate some of the techniques foley artists use so that the audience can try making their own sound effects at home.
